What I do
Alongside my career as a musician, I teach guitar and music professionally. My role is to give my students the keys to achieving their musical goals, whether it’s getting rid of bad habits, filling gaps in theory knowledge, improving one’s skill at improvising or composing, preparing an exam, a recording or a performance, learning to play the blues, or being able to play all Jimmy Page’s solos an so on…
Beginners are welcome, but I expect from them to have chosen the guitar as their instrument and to be ready to practice regularly. There is no miracle in practicing music. If you want to be good, you need to work.
There are many YouTube tutorials in which people show you how to perform a special piece of technique, but none is adapted to you. By chance, you will be able to play some riffs or to learn the chords of a song, but if you fail doing it, nobody will tell you why.
The coach/teacher’s job is to estimate the level and the needs of the students, to guide them through their learning process, avoiding bad postures, wrong fingerings, and to suggest them theory and practice elements which fit to their availability and purposes.
Of course, fun must be a part of practicing music. That is why I always propose to my students to work on pieces or songs from their favourite repertoire, or suggest some of them according to the current technique or theory point at work.
The program I offer to the student is fully customized. For this purpose, I strongly recommend to appliers that we meet a first time, free of charge and without further obligation, in order to determine their needs and their path to achievement.
The learning process is defined as follows
• Estimation of level and needs
• Mechanical exercises
• Chords theory
• Keys and modes knowledge
• Ear training
• Rhythm
• Harmony
• Composition and arrangement techniques
• Repertoire
• Improvisation
